The Importance of Being Present: Grounding Yourself in Reality

When I arrive at work I always make it a point to be present in the moment and be aware of my surroundings.

The Journey to Work

It's interesting how I often find myself questioning how I ended up there.

I take a mental journey retracing my steps from the morning.

Morning Routine Reflection

I remember getting on the bus and stopping at the shop to pick up some food for the day ahead.

Then I recall arriving at work and settling down in the canteen but that's not where the questioning ends.

Delving Into Memories

I delve deeper into my memories pondering what happened before that.

It's fascinating because in dreams things can be quite different.

The Nature of Dreams

You might be strolling down a familiar road one moment and suddenly find yourself in a mysterious forest without any recollection of how you got there.

Dreams have this way of skipping through scenes without any logical transitions.

Questioning My Reality

That's why it's so important for me to question my reality to pause and ask myself how did I get here.

It's a way of grounding myself in the present and ensuring that I'm truly experiencing the world around me.
